The Club members observed that the Russian invasion of Ukraine killed tens of thousands, displaced millions,
destroyed the economy, destroyed the environment and the the Russian forces planted over three million mines
in civilian and farming areas over area size of Tasmania.
To assist in de-mining, the Club purchased 312 metal detectors and wand pointers sent that were sent to a Rotary club in Poland then to Rotary Ukraine.
The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organizations that regularly sends items to Ukraine transported the items.
The project was supported by Embassy of Ukraine in Canberra.
We are working on acquiring another pallet load of metal detectors and wands.
